Kay Francis

Songs from the Heart

Kay Francis is a Canada-based folk singer-songwriter whose music is rooted in storytelling, emotional honesty, and a lifetime shaped by song. Raised in a home where music was constant—guitars, records, and dancing filling the air—she began performing early and developed a deep, enduring connection to folk traditions.

Kay is a classically trained vocalist whose early studies led to a vocal scholarship offer from the University of Miami. She went on to build a diverse performance career spanning folk, jazz, choral, and historical music, before ultimately returning to songwriting as her artistic home. Her voice is warm and expressive, carrying stories that balance reflection with quiet strength.

After retiring from business in 2022, Kay turned her full attention to songwriting, releasing a powerful body of original work marked by vivid imagery and human connection. Her debut single “Burning Clouds”—written in response to devastating wildfires—partnered with the Canadian Wildfire Fund through the Canadian Red Cross, with all proceeds donated to support affected families.

Kay has performed at festivals, concert series, and intimate listening spaces throughout Eastern Ontario, and is known for creating music that invites listeners in—songs that feel lived-in, thoughtful, and deeply felt. Her work resonates with audiences who value meaningful lyrics, acoustic warmth, and music that lingers long after the final note.

Often described as heartfelt and haunting, Kay’s songs move easily between tenderness and resolve—music from the heart, told with clarity and grace.
